Men
are notorious for playing the field and having sex just for the hell of it.
Women, on the other hand, cannot do this in our culture. There is a double
standard in society that prevents women from acting in such a way. If women
were to act like this, they would be labeled as sluts. Why can’t a woman
have sex as often as a man?
Women
should have as much sexual freedom as their male counterparts. If a woman wants to have a little fun,
she should be allowed to. It’s time for the women who take command of
their sex lives to stop being labeled as promiscuous and start being seen as
players. The stereotype of the perpetual virgin has been shattered. Sexually
ambitious women have been around for a long time, yet things work differently
once they step out into the limelight. Women such as Madonna, Sharon Stone and
Monica Lewinsky have shown the world that girls can, and will, have fun.
In
a culture where women are expected to dress like sex goddesses, it is strange
that they are not expected to act that way. There is an entire industry designed to make women sexier,
but people are still afraid of the sexually aggressive female. Would a sexually strong woman offset
the balance of power? Would men suddenly become the hoes and women take on the
role of pimps? All of these things are a possibility. However, none of them
will occur if women do not take charge of their right to get their freak on.
There
was once a little movement in the ’60s known as the sexual revolution.
What came of it? It fought for women’s rights and pushed the envelope
regarding sexual issues for women.
At the time, they wanted the right to be seen as sexual beings. Through
the efforts of ritzy fashion dynasties and the cosmetic industry, this goal has
been achieved. Many might forget that the key part of the word
“sexual” is SEX!
I
believe women should not only have the right to be seen as sexual, but also
have the right to actually have sex openly without scrutiny. They should not
forget about their own sexual needs and desires.
I
say go out and be wild, but be safe.
Show the world that the female race is no longer a bunch of submissive
prudes that men would like them to be. Show people that anything men can do,
women can do better.
