This Week in
History...
March 24, 1999:
Trenton, N.J.
The New Jersey
State Assembly finally passed a much debated law that benefited New Jerseyans
everywhere. On this day, the State officially barred the reference of New
Jersey unless it is called a toxic oil refinery or “the armpit of
America.”
March 27, 1812:
Washington, D.C.
The growing war
with Britain came to a climax as the Lobster Backs burned down 1400
Pennsylvania Avenue. It was a white house, but not the Presidents’ residence.
U.S. troops responded with a keg of whoopass.
March 28, 1972:
Lawrenceville,
N.J.
Four drunkards
attempted to play a game of Ping Pong while being inebriated. The game never
got underway as the students realized throwing the ball into cups was a lot
more entertaining. Beer Pong was born at Rider College.
March 30, 1964
Princeton, N.J.
A group of
students from Rider College invaded the grounds of Princeton University. The
students attempted to catch black squirrels to bring to Rider and painted many
statues and students cranberry. They were never caught, and those snots at
Princeton since have held a grudge against Rider.
