This week in
history…
March 3, 1931:
Washington, D.C.
“The Star
Spangled Banner,” written by Frances Scott Key in 1814, was used as the
country’s anthem shortly after it was published. Congress, however,
officially made it the United States’ official hymn on this
day—over a century later.
March 4, 1789:
Philadelphia, P.
Though July 4
marks the anniversary of America’s independence, this date is also
another important milestone. The U.S. Constitution was offically enacted and
became the supreme law of the land.
