Innuendos
It’s all
about the attitude
By TIM GREEN
In
a culture where looks are everything, it is no wonder that many people have
such low images of themselves.
Some
believe that only certain people get to be sexy. I like to think that anyone
can be sexy. Sex appeal is not bound to the blonde hair and blue eye model. It
does not matter what you look like—you can be sexy, too.
Beauty
may be skin deep, but sex appeal is not all on the surface. One does not have
to be in the best shape or be the best looking to have a sexy image. Though
looks help, they are not a necessity when it comes to being sexy.
For
example, Sandra Bernhardt is not the prettiest woman out there, but she exudes
sex appeal. She has the kind of confidence a person needs to pull off the sexy
attitude.
Although
I believe hair, make-up and clothes are superficial, they can help. It is also
another belief of mine that when someone looks good, that person feels good.
Looking good gives that initial boost of confidence a person needs to step into
his or her sexy attitude.
When
it comes to sex appeal, confidence is the bottom line. People need to block out
those images of our society’s “beautiful ones” and focus on
their own images. I know from my own experience it is hard to do that. You look
around at other people and wish you could look like them, but you are not them,
so you have to work with what you have.
If
need be, go out and buy that pair of faded jeans and get that new hairstyle,
but remember, sex appeal is primarily an attitude. It is all in your head. I
also know that you are the worst judge when it comes to your own looks. Of
course, you are bound to see all your flaws; everyone sees his or her own
imperfections.
The
one thing you must keep in mind is that people will not notice them if you
present confidence. Once you go back to your room, you can run to the mirror
and obsess about that zit on your face. But when you are out in the public eye,
focus on your mind’s “sexy” image of yourself, and that is
what people will see.
