Security Briefs

Start walking now

For one person, the best way of getting from Point A to Point B may be to hitchhike now that her bike is missing. As reported to Public Safety on Monday, Oct. 30, a female’s bike was stolen from the Switlik bike rack sometime between Oct. 23 and Oct. 30. The victim reported that the bike was left unlocked in the rack. The bike was valued at approximately $200. Police services were offered and declined. Anyone with information should call Public Safety at
x. 5029.

Smashed

A car parked on campus had its window smashed. On Sunday, Oct. 29, a female student reported that while her car was parked in the Resident Lot, the rear window was smashed by an unknown person. The victim stated that the car was originally parked that same morning at 4 a.m., and the damage was discovered at 4 p.m. Police services were offered and declined. The cost of repair is not known at this time. Anyone with information should call Public Safety at x. 5029.

Really smashed

A night of heavy drinking had a bloody ending for an underage male student. On Saturday, Oct. 28, Public Safety was dispatched to Gee Hall for a reported alcohol violation and a medical emergency. When Public Safety arrived, officers found an injured male student on the ground floor of the women’s bathroom visibly drunk and under the legal age. It was apparent that he had broken his nose and was bleeding heavily. Although the bleeding was slowing, he was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Upon investigation, Public Safety later learned the student had been walking outside Gee Hall with three male students. One student pushed him face-first into the pavement. He was then taken into the bathroom to get cleaned up. The injured student was cited by the Lawrence Township Police Department for underage drinking and the matter has been referred to the Office of Community Standards.
