Destruction junction

Building renovations are not the only signs of redevelopment on campus. On Friday, Oct. 17, at 8:56 a.m., an unknown vehicle knocked down a stop sign at the main gate and drove over shrubbery in several nearby locations. After reviewing surveillance cameras, Public Safety observed that a tractor-trailer truck entered the main gate, made a U-turn, drove over the campus grounds and caused approximately $500 worth of damage. There was no visible marking or lettering on the vehicle. The investigation is still continuing, and anyone with information should contact Public Safety at x.5029.

Misplaced music

Apple iPods are a hot item these days. A male resident student found that out the hard way. On Oct. 16, between 8 p.m., and 11 p.m., the student left his iPod, worth approximately $300, on a treadmill in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) only to have it swiped by an unknown suspect. After realizing he left the iPod on a treadmill, the student contacted SRC officials. Office workers at the center told him they found the music device and put it in the main office desk drawer. But when the student went to retrieve his device the next day, the office worker said it was not in the drawer and never had been. Police services were offered and declined. Public Safety is currently investigating the matter.

Unwieldy visitor

All visitors are not happy to be here. On Oct. 23, at 11:30 a.m., a male staff member told Public Safety that while he was outside of the Bart Luedeke Center on Oct. 17, a female visitor approached him, yelling and screaming. The visitor was disruptive and created a scene, leading the staff member to believe she was emotionally unstable. Police services were offered and declined. The suspect, who departed campus, is being issued a persona non grata letter.
