Security Briefs

Stress Reliever

Angry, drunken people sometimes take out their frustrations on the first thing they see, which was exactly what a Hill Hall resident did this weekend.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2:29 a.m., Public Safety found a broken mirror in the hallway outside a suspect’s room and several broken bottles inside the room. The visibly intoxicated suspect said he did it because he was “having a bad night.” He was charged with indecent conduct.

More Frustrations

Taking out frustrations on glass is one thing, but taking them out on a Public Safety officer is probably a big mistake.

After a male student received a ticket for illegally parking in the Annex Lot, he approached the officer while using profanities. The officer explained the reason for the ticket. The student tore it up and threw it in the officer’s face while continuing to use profane language. Upon investigation, the officer confirmed the student’s identity. He has been charged with verbal and nonverbal harassment, disorderly conduct and indecent conduct.

Double Il-legal

Drinking 21 shots on a 21st birthday often results in a trip to the hospital. An underaged male student doubled that number this weekend.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, at 12:28 a.m., a male student was found by Public Safety officers sitting upright over a wastebasket. According to witnesses, he had fallen sick about three hours earlier.

He told the officers that he had consumed 42 shots. The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was charged with reckless endangerment and an alcohol policy violation.
