Security Briefs
Hurry up!
Drivers who speed usually cause accidents, but in one student’s case, driving too slow caused one.
While attempting to pass through the security kiosk at the South gate on Wednesday, Nov. 2, the vehicle of a female resident was struck by the gate arm as it was coming down. Public Safety asserts that the officers hit the button for the gate arm to go up, but it lowers automatically.
The incident was reported on the following morning because she said it was dark at the time of the accident and that she could not see the damage to the hood of her vehicle. Public Safety inspected the area of the reported damage and found a minor mark on the hood, possibly from what was called paint transfer. Public Safety is still looking into the matter.
Into the woods
It may be hard to believe, but there is more to the Lawrenceville campus beyond the Maurer
Center — and someone found a way to vandalize it.
On Thursday, Nov. 3, Public Safety was informed that three sheds in the outer fields had their locks broken off. It appears no items are missing from any of the sheds. Staff is currently doing inventory and will report the information to Public Safety. Anyone with information on the matter should call Public Safety at x5029.
Wrong room
An unknown male appeared to find it difficult to distinguish the words “women” and “men” on the door of a Hill Hall
bathroom.
At 2 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 3, a female resident reported that while in the bathroom, she heard the door open and when she exited the stall, she saw a male standing in the bathroom. The male stared at her without saying anything and blocked the doorway. He stood there for about 20 seconds, without attempting to touch her. The same male did it again to the female later in the night.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Public Safety at x5029.
