Faculty, staff show off ’60s groove

By Bill Greenwood

In order to promote its production of Hair, which premiered last night, Nov. 10, in the Yvonne Theater, the Fine Arts Department constructed a ’60s wall featuring old photographs both submitted by current Rider faculty and staff and culled from the 1968 Rider College yearbook, according to Dr. Patrick Chmel, Fine Arts Department chairperson.

“We think that it generated a lot of curiosity and interest toward the production that we’re doing,” he said. “It would [also] be a wonderful display for the public at large coming in, to look at the photos.”

The display has been up for about two to three weeks, according to Chmel, and can be found on the right-hand side of the Yvonne Theater entrance in the Fine Arts building.

A selection of images from the wall is on the right. The identities of the faculty and staff pictured can be found in the section entitled “’60s wall IDs” on page 10.
