3 finalists enter the last round of interviewing for job as AD

The University has begun the process of interviewing the finalists who applied for the position of director of athletics, and Don Harnum, interim director of athletics, is one of them. Harnum has been involved with the men’s basketball team, as assistant, associate, and then head coach, since he came to Rider in 1987, before stepping up to take over for Curt Blake, the former director of athletics. Blake abruptly retired before the fall semester began. Interim Head Coach Tom Dempsey, who was the assistant coach for the team, took the reins in Harnum’s place as a temporary head coach for the 2005-2006 season.... MORE

The cheerleaders send their farewells to the men’s basketball team at the Rider Rally held in the Student Recreation Center on Wednesday, March 1. The men’s basketball team faces a daunting task as it must win four games in four days to secure a title at the MAAC Championships in Albany, N.Y. Yesterday, the women’s basketball team lost its first round game against Manhattan by a score of 89-52. The wrestling team also has title dreams this weekend, as it heads to Drexel for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships. To cap the championship weekend off, the men’s indoor track and field team will be competing at the IC4As and the women in the ECAC Championships both held in Boston.

Batting Broncs’ hopes remain high

Starting off the season with an 0-3 record is not a beginning most teams feel optimistic about. For the Rider baseball team though, the outlook for the season is bright and the team feels it can make an impact in the MAAC conference. The sports world is buzzing about the story of an autistic basketball manager who was honored at his high school’s Senior Day game by being announced as part of the team and dressing in full uniform.
