Letter to the Editor:
Thanking the people behind U-Ball

In last week's article, ‘Dancing the Night Away,’ the University Ball was given some great recognition. The University Ball is a Rider tradition that brings together students of all four years, as well as members of both Rider’s faculty and staff. It is a fabulous concept that has developed into something larger than predicted.

I would like to take a moment to recognize and address some outstanding actions that went on that night.

Melissa Vidam, the graduate assistant for Leadership, was this University Ball’s event planner and committee chairperson. She and her committee spent countless hours organizing, decorating and getting students and staff to participate in the development process. Planning began last October and, after 250 people showed up, it was evident that everyone’s hard work had paid off.

Special thanks also must go to Geoff Rickert and his father who let us borrow antiques from his shop, Ilyssa Berkowitz, Kristin McGowan, Cassie Iacovelli, Peter Borg, Dr. Drew Procaccino and Dr. Roberta Clipper Sethi, who all offered their time and help throughout the whole year.
