Oh that smell

What was first a report of a noise violation in Hill Hall on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 11:42 p.m., turned into a drug bust for two residents. When Public Safety responded, the officers smelled the possible odor of marijuana emanating from the room. Attempts to contact the residents were unsuccessful, and the officers were given permission to enter the room by the on-call
administrator.

Once inside the room, the officers noticed the odor was stronger and that the smoke detector was covered. They found what they believed to be marijuana residue and a smoking device. The officers also found ID cards that possibly belonged to the suspects. Public Safety then notified the Lawrenceville Police Department (LPD) and turned over all information and evidence to them. Public Safety charged the suspects with unauthorized possession of illegal substances, drug paraphernalia and creating a fire hazard. One suspect has come forward and said he was the one responsible. He still faces possible charges from the LPD.

All fall down

While in the Student Recreation Center (SRC), someone was playing too hard and hurt himself. On Friday, Feb. 24, at 9:22 p.m., Public Safety was dispatched to the SRC for a medical emergency. They found a male student lying on the basketball court with an injury to the right knee. An ice pack had already been placed on it. The victim was offered and declined medical services.

Not caused by a baseball

Neighborhood kids playing baseball probably were not the culprits in a broken window on campus. While doing routine patrol of the buildings on Feb. 28, at 3:30 a.m., Public Safety observed a broken window on the first floor of the Science building. The event happened sometime between Feb. 27 and Feb. 28. The cost of repair is unknown at this time. Anyone with information, call Public Safety at x. 5029.
