Clearing the Air: Before state law kicks in, Rider bans smoking in last campus stronghold

Rider instituted a new nonsmoking policy in the Rider Pub last Monday, Jan. 30, requiring visitors to step outside prior to lighting up, according to Director of Campus Life David Keenan. Senior Keith Carletta is one of the many smokers at Rider who is now forced to smoke outside of the pub, rather than inside, like in the recent past. Rider’s adoption of the new smoking policy comes as a result of the New Jersey Smoke-Free Air Act.
